Good response for May ball dance of Doha Goans



Doha: Goa is one party destination where the sun never sets down, come rain or sun, the party atmosphere continues 365 days of the year.

Goans in Qatar missing out on the fun back home in the tiny resort-state will throw a party away of their own come May 5 at Ramada Plaza from 8.00 pm at Giwana hall.

People from the state have been known to break into a dance at the drop of the hat and music it is said runs in their veins. Musicians from Goa had put their stamp on the Bollywood industry and continue to do so.

Goans along with their fellow Indians and guests from other countries will have a chance to appreciate and dance to the tunes of two Goan bands in a cosmopolitan Qatar on Thursday. So it depends on each one, whether to break into a gig, share a hip or two or roll your hair down and dance to your heart’s content.

Black Slades along with Sharp will provide you with a wide variety of music choice – both for your dancing pleasure and those who have developed heavy feet – music to soothe your mind and rekindle your brain.

Delhi-based Black Slades one of the best bands have performed and entertained music lovers for the past 22 years in Indian capital. ‘BlackSlades’ have also done several musical shows overseas and

performed regularly in Indian cities like Chandigarh, Roorkhie, Jaipur, Goa, etc, besides Delhi. Catering to different types of people and listening tastes from rock concerts at colleges to hi-brow jazz and pop dos, their repertoire is wide, flexible and they provide what the people want. BlackSlades have also worked with Apache Indian and Kailash Kher.



And those who wish to celebrate beauty, former Miss India and now Bollywood star Tanushree Dutta, will be the chief guest for the dine and dance.

Tanushre who started her Bollywood career with 'Chocolate' in 2005, and also stared in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, 36 China Town, Bhagam Bhaag, Risk, Good Boy Bad Boy, Raqeeb, Dhol, Speed, Mr. Fraud, Dus Kahaniyan, Sas Bahu Aur Sunsex, Rokda, Apartment, Ramaa, Khilladi (2011).



The charming and tall, Tanushree, who was crowned Miss India in 2004 also won the Miss Confidence and Miss Beautiful Smile awards, the year-old will be crowning the MayBall Queen.

The beauty pageant will be the highlight of the evening. The beauty pageant contestants win fabulous prizes. Spot prizes for Jive & Salsa Dancing Couples, Lucky Entrance, Novelty Dance Winners are the other highlights of the dine and dance by DGSC.



The MayBall Queen winner will be picked up by a panel of eminent persons from Qatar.

DGSC which was revived in 2010 has also established a benevolent fun for needy Goans based in Qatar. Since it its revival the DGSC had an Inter-village football tournament, Goa Day and a Konkani tiatr.
